I thought i would share this random thought that popped into my head after seeing videos published of the various American evangelical groups lobbying and preparing to construct the the third Temple of YWHW. These groups have brought us the CAD drawings for the edifice itself as well as red Heifers (supposedly without blemish), Menorahs, Drapes, Altars and many ceremonial vessels all in anticipation of the rebuilding. It is not out of love for the Jewish people that they are doing this though. They are hoping to prompt – kickstart the second coming of Jesus by fulfilling one of the last prophecies necessary for the return.

This strikes me as funny in several ways. Probably the most hilarious is the general attitude of the Jewish people of Jerusalem and Israel in general towards the idea of rebuilding their temple. The Israeli government would prefer that the Temple Mount simply vanish from the face of the earth. Not only do they have ZERO appetite to even entertain the idea, they actively discourage any historical work that even involves the Temple Mount. Period. Even if a miracle occurs and the Israelis find themselves occupying the Temple Mount, there is no way…..NO WAY….they would permit something that would be so inflammatory to all of their enemies. It simply wont happen and is not even remotely possible.

Another funny point is the Christians believe that they would be in charge of building and running this facility. Having basically zero knowledge of Jewish laws regarding the constructions nor requirements for the rituals themselves, they have not even gathered the necessary items for the ceremonies themselves yet that are putting on their hard-hats.

Case in point, the priests are required to wear robes dyed a very specific color using a very specific dye. It is a blue called Tekhelet. In addition to the robes of certain priests, it is also used in the single blue threat in the tassels of their prayer garments; tzit-tzit. There is a problem though, we have no idea how to make it. It was written that it was made from the blood of the Hillazon.

What is a Hillazon? No one knows. They did offer us a simple description of the creature though. Part of its body looks like a snake. It has a stomach that comes out. Its body is similar to the sea and its form is similar to a fish. It carries a shell and has legs on its head” as well. Process of elimination leads us to a certain species of snail or a cuttlefish but it needs to be certain for it to be used in the temple. This is just an example of the level of complexity required for any activity in the prospective temple. It is something that is a part of Jewish culture that Christians simply do not understand.

The bottom line is any Temple will be a Jewish Temple without any regard to the inputs of the other religions. Despite the Evangelical desire to provoke the second coming, any Temple-building will happen if and only if the will is present among the Jewish nation and the people of the state of Israel. If they require the assistance of Texas ranchers and Baptist AutoCAD operators, I am sure they will be in contact.
